I've been watching the 10-disc documentary series Jazz, directed by Ken Burns. It's a truly magnificent historical narrative that I can't recommend highly enough. It's a massive 19+ hours long, but you'll be tapping your feet, if not dancing around the room, the entire time. Watch it. I dare you.
You can also Netflix it. That's what I did, but I'd like to watch it again, so I feel it's worth owning.

I enjoyed the series, but I thought the last episode was weak. You should try watching 'Baseball' by Burns. That's my favorite!
